Wirra Hub Opens Doors for Business

The Wirrpanda Foundation, with the support of the Federal Government, opened an Indigenous Business and Jobs Hub located in Burswood this week.

The Wirra Hub will provide significant opportunities to the growing Indigenous Business sector in WA by offering access to business advice for Indigenous Businesses and connections with existing mainstream and Indigenous-specific business support services. Wirra Hub will also support public, private and not-for-profit organisations to engage Indigenous businesses or jobseekers to enable them to meet their procurement and employment targets.

Minister for Indigenous Australians, the Hon Ken Wyatt AM, MP officially opened the Hub in front of a strong crowd of supporters for the initiative.

“The Wirra Hub will make available experienced Indigenous managers and coaches to deliver tailored business advice and connect clients with mainstream and Indigenous-specific business support services to support their ambitions,” Minister Wyatt said.

By drawing on extensive experience the Foundation has engaging Indigenous communities and growing business connections, the Wirra Hub will ensure Indigenous businesses have a seamless experience accessing support and guidance.

Founder and Director of the Wirrpanda Foundation, David Wirrpanda said, “The Indigenous Business and Employment Hub will provide an invaluable opportunity to allow Indigenous businesses to flourish. It will provide a collaborative entrepreneurial workspace for Indigenous businesses and jobseekers to come together.

“It is an immense privilege for the Foundation to have a role in the empowerment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses and, in turn, the community.”
