Fit 4 Work celebrates NAIDOC

It was a full house at Mineral Resources Park as we celebrated NAIDOC Week with a special Fit 4 Work session.

Supported by our friends at Western Power, we kicked off with a welcome to country from Walter McGuire. Our Jobseekers then heard from our employment team, learning more about our employment programs as well as from Western Power and their current job vacancies.

Artist (and Deadly Sista Girlz Mentor) Buffie Corunna was on hand to help participants create a collaborative art piece, representing the day. We finished up with a hotly contested basketball match and a BBQ.

Fit 4 Work is run weekly as part of our Plan 2day 4 2morrow program. Supported by Shell, P242 aims to create opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander job seekers. P242 works with participants to help them reach their full potential and gain employment.

At our Fit 4 Work sessions, attendees enjoy activities aimed at improving physical fitness, self-confidence and job readiness. Our mentors then work with each individual as well as our employer networks to create sustainable employment opportunities.
